Hi and welcome to my new blog!  My interests in things Catholic are wide-ranging and I intend to write and comment about anything which interests, moves or irks me.  I have been inspired to do this by the likes of Fr. Z, Simcha Fisher, Jennifer Fulwiler and Mark Shea, to name but a few.  


My real objective is to defend the Catholic Church and the Catholic way of life - all the values and beliefs that we, as Catholics, hold in extremely high regard.
Increasingly now, The Church and Catholicism in general are under growing attack from all sides.  Some of those that attack the Church consider themselves to be part of the Church itself and I feel that it is these who cause the most damage - and who have much to answer for. 


Some of you might recognize my pen-name, Pepin the Short, from the various comments I make here and there as I flit about the blogosphere reading and analysing the world through Catholic eyes.  Well, recently I have been spending so much time reading and commenting on other people's blogs that it occurred to me that I might as well write my reflections about  what's happening on my own blog and so voila', here I am!
